A Better Way

When it’s time to take a turn…

80% of LinkedIn subscribers claim to either "not like" or "hate" their job.

Other studies show that only 13% of people worldwide actually like going to work.

To some, this may seem obvious and something that we all must accept. After all, work isn't something you're supposed to like, it's simply something you need to do to pay the bills.

I could not disagree more. Take into account the amount of time you spend:

- Getting ready for work

- Commuting to work

- Working

- Work Events

- Commuting home from work

- Working on odds and ends from home

- Thinking about work when you're home

- Extracurricular activités to make you NOT think about work anymore

Add up all of those hours and take a good hard look in the mirror. I would venture to bet that "Work" takes up the majority of your waking hours. Why, as a society, as a world, are we so flippant and agreeable to disliking the thing we spend most of our time on?

Now, you may say that you love your job, and if so, that's fantastic. That said, the numbers don't lie and you are one of the lucky ones.

It's my belief (and has been for as long as I can remember) that there is a better way. You shouldn't need to dislike what you do to support your family or pay the bar tab. You should be able to pursue your dreams, with the goal of being incredibly successful doing something you're passionate about. Isn't that what America is supposed to be about?

Personally, at this point in my life, I have three big career goals:

1. Succeed enormously doing something I'm passionate about

2. Help others that are "stuck", get out of their rut and do the same

3. Be in a position to give back to my community and help others

This is why we have chosen to start TheAppShack. We believe that with some success, we can not only work with people we like, do things we like, produce applications that will make people happier and add value to society, but also help others ideas become a reality, all the while giving a piece of everything we make back to the community.

It will work. I know this because there is a better way.
